Root canal treatment by experienced professionals. We can even save teeth that you had given up on!
Caries can be very crafty and can sometimes destroy a tooth from the inside, without you even noticing. Many patients only realise that something is wrong when they suddenly get severe toothache. Unfortunately by then it’s too late. Because the pain stems from an inflammation that in many cases ends with the tooth dying. Yet a non-vital tooth doesn’t necessarily have to be pulled out! If it is properly dealt with, it can be maintained for many years, or even decades – the prerequisite for this is successful root canal treatment.
Do you need to have root canal treatment, or are you worried that one of your teeth might need root canal treatment? There’s no need to worry! We will take good care of you and do our best to retain your tooth. Simply make an appointment at our practice!
Cleaning
When you have root canal treatment, the first step is to clean the root canals of the tooth, by removing the remains of the nerve and thoroughly rinsing and disinfecting the canals.
Secure
The hollow root canals are then sealed up to make them airtight. This prevents any new bacteria from getting into them in the future.
Tooth build-up
Finally, the tooth is reconstructed – as required – with an inlay, a crown or a partial crown, so that it not only looks completely normal but also functions absolutely as normal.
The thermoplastic method is a particularly long-lasting type of root canal treatment which enables us to save even teeth that would otherwise have been extracted.
First of all, we determine the exact shape and length of the root canals with the help of an electrometric measuring technique so that we can then fill them with a special, natural material. The filling material is warm and in this state flows into every little nook and cranny of the root canal cavity so that, when we are finished, the entire root canal has been completely filled. As soon as the material has dried, the root is airtight and thus ideally equipped to prevent any new attacks by bacteria. It therefore provides a stable foundation for a robust tooth, enabling you to chew and bite without noticing any difference between the new tooth and your other teeth. And thanks to our perfect, all-ceramic tooth restoration using inlays, crowns and partial crowns, this tooth will look and feel absolutely normal once the treatment has been completed.
