Why choose a dental implant?

Conditions such as tooth decay, periodontal disease or bone atrophy, or even an accident, can result in teeth being lost. Bridges, partial dentures or a full set of dentures are certainly reasonable options for replacing the missing teeth. But the best type of replacement tooth is an implant. Like a real tooth, it has its own “root” that is fused into the jawbone and is completely stable, but in this case it is made if titanium. The crown is made of tooth-coloured all-ceramic material and not only looks just like a normal healthy tooth, but also functions in exactly the same way.
How is an implant inserted?

The insertion of the implants is normally done under local anaesthetic and involves fixing a titanium implant into the jawbone. Following this appointment, the patient requires some time for the wound to heal and to allow the titanium screw to become firmly integrated into the jawbone. Once this has been achieved, an abutment is fitted onto the screw and the crown is then attached to this. The crown will be the shape and colour of a natural tooth. Thanks to the Cerec 3D technology that we use in our practice, we are able to provide you with an all-ceramic crown that will look exactly like the tooth that you lost but in its original healthy form. This new tooth will be immediately functional and will feel completely normal.

In simple terms: it hardly hurts at all and you will be able to have your new tooth sooner.
