Composite filling – The perfect solution for smaller tooth cavities. For a healthy and happy smile.
Even if you look after your teeth well, caries can still sometimes find a way to attack your teeth. If you have regular check-ups at the dentist, the decay will soon be discovered. In this case only small holes will have developed, and these can be treated with a simple filling.
In our practice we exclusively use a mixture of synthetic and ceramic materials for our fillings. This material, known as composite, is not only suitable for use as a filling material in the treatment of caries. It is also used to even out small areas of damage on the front teeth. Thanks to composite, a broken tooth can be restored to its original shape after an accident. It will look completely natural and will also function completely as normal. You will even be able to bite into an apple again.
First of all, the caries needs to be removed from the tooth or the old amalgam filling is removed.
A suitable composite colour is selected.
The hole is filled with the filling material.
The filling then needs to harden briefly.
It will then be smoothed off and polished.
The tooth that has been treated can be used immediately.
No follow-up treatment is required.
Fortunately, the days are long gone when amalgam was routinely used to fill teeth after treatment for tooth decay.
Composite is a modern, long-lasting filling material that is metal-free and does not pose any health risks, and the fact that it is very inconspicuous also makes it an attractive option. Because this special mix of synthetic and ceramic materials is the same colour as your teeth and is therefore completely unnoticeable. You can feel free to laugh and smile without the person you are talking to noticing the fillings in your mouth!
We can help you by replacing your old amalgam fillings with tooth-coloured, metal-free fillings made of composite material. Simply make an appointment at our practice! We look forward to seeing you there.
